NEW UNIT – LINKED TRACKER SELECT TAX EXEMPT SAVINGS PLAN
FROM THE NOTTINGHAM FRIENDLY SOCIETY
The Nottingham Friendly Society is branching out with the launch of
its first unit-linked savings plans.
Our Tracker Select Tax Exempt Savings Plan signals the start of a
new era of choice from one of Britain’s oldest Friendly Societies. And what a choice!
The plan, which is invested in tracker funds, comes with three options.
Ethical – tracks ethically-screened companies in the FTSE 350
Global 100 – tracks the performance of the S&P Global 100
UK – tracks the FTSE All-Share Index
You can invest regularly from as little as £25.00 per month
The plan offers the tax exempt savings plan (TESP) benefits only
available from Friendly Societies
There is a non tax exempt version for those who already have a TESP or
who want to invest more than their £25 a month TESP allowance. Both plans come with life cover and no medical questions asked.
These plans are suitable for those wishing to save regularly for at least 10
years and who are prepared to accept the risks as well as the benefits
associated with investing in equities. The value of the investment is
likely to fluctuate and the final proceeds will depend on the investment
performance of the funds chosen, which cannot be predicted. Investors
may receive back less than they have paid in as investment values can fall
as well as rise.
Two plans, three options, many great benefits and our legendary first
class service! Get on the right track today.
THE NEW “50 PLUS” PLAN
The new with-profits “50 Plus” Plan is now available exclusively for 50 to 80 year olds.
Monthly premiums start from an incredibly low £10 per month to a maximum of £40 per month.
For example, the plan could be a low cost and convenient way to ensure that there is money available to help with any bills, expenses or funeral costs after your death.
Whatever your circumstances, the money could make all the difference to those you leave behind.
We guarantee: Never to decline anyone aged 50 – 80 who applies for a plan.
We guarantee: Never to increase the monthly premium.
We guarantee: Never to reduce the benefits, as long as your premiums are paid when due.

New investors in the “50 Plus” Plan also become members of Nottingham Friendly, and as such may qualify for our ' Additional Benefits ' scheme. They can receive up to £30 a year from our Discretionary Fund to help pay for dental, optical or other medical expenses.
Annual General Meeting 2008
Our 2008 Annual General Meeting was held in Nottingham on Wednesday, 18th June. 18 members attended.
The four resolutions detailed in the AGM notice sent to members in May were all passed with comfortable majorities:-
| Resolution 1 |
Annual Report and Accounts for 2007 |
votes for 535 votes against 4 |
| Resolution 2 |
Re-appointment of Messrs E C Brown & Batts as auditors |
votes for 533 votes against 6 |
| Resolution 3 |
Directors' Remuneration report |
votes for 525 votes against 13 |
| Resolution 4 |
Election of Richard Gough as Director |

After the four resolutions had been discussed, an open forum session was held, at which attendees took the opportunity to raise several topics of their choice. The session also featured a presentation by the Sales and Marketing Manager on the newly developed "Unit Linked" range of products.
Board Membership
As a result of retirements, we will have vacancies on our Board of Management in each of the next few years.
If you are interested in becoming a non-executive director of the Society, and you believe you have the skills and experience necessary to help our society to build on the successes already achieved, please ask for further information, by emailing roger@nottinghamfriendly.co.uk, if possible attaching your curriculum vitae.
